Plug and Play Albania: A global opportunity close to home
We are excited to share that NEKOD is now part of Plug and Play Albania, a program that bridges Silicon Valley-level opportunity with rising local tech ecosystems.
For me, this is a personal move. Albania is my home country. While I am still based in Amsterdam, I now spend one week per month in Tirana, working closely with our engineering team on the ground.
Why Plug and Play Albania Matters
For those unfamiliar, Plug and Play is one of the most renowned innovation platforms in the world, with roots in Silicon Valley and a portfolio that includes startups like PayPal, Dropbox, and N26. Their programs are known for one thing in particular: corporate partnerships.
Plug and Play connects startups with industry leaders looking for innovation. For NEKOD, which operates in the enterprise space, that’s a perfect match. We’re here to build meaningful relationships with companies that take compliance and business-built software seriously.
Even better? The program is equity-free. That means we get all the benefits—support, exposure, and connections—without giving up any part of our company. It’s rare, and it’s exactly the kind of model that lets founders stay focused and in control.
A natural fit for NEKOD
NEKOD helps enterprises govern and manage risk around Citizen Development—the growing movement of business users building their own tools using no-code/low-code platforms or AI. As this trend accelerates, companies are asking: how do we enable innovation without losing control?
A gateway to Silicon Valley
The program culminates in a selection of the top 10 startups, who will travel to Plug and Play’s headquarters in Silicon Valley for six weeks. It’s an incredible opportunity for visibility, fundraising, and global expansion—and we’re working hard to earn our spot.
NEKOD is here to shape the future of business-built software. And doing it through a program that’s both global and rooted in my home country? That’s something special.
